Initial Assessment
Step one is to understand your symptoms. During our pharmacist intake, we will:
- Complete an in-depth assessment of your concerns
- Review any health history, nutrition & lifestyle factors that may be impacting those concerns
- Review tailored questions to ensure cannabis is appropriate, safe and effective for you
- Complete a medication review
Formulate a Plan
Based on our assessment, we’ll determine a tailored plan that will include the following:
- Choosing a cannabis product for you (if it is appropriate)
- Reviewing dosing and a titration schedule
- Monitoring strategies to track progress
- Specific diet, supplement and lifestyle recommendations
Ongoing Care
Regular follow-up visits are important for monitoring progress and ensuring we’re heading in the right direction. These visits help in:
- Monitor treatment progress & efficacy
- Determine follow-up changes to dosing or product selection
- Provide accountability & support
- Track long-term goals & new symptoms or concerns that arise along the way

We’re aware that wait times are long and appointment spots are limited. A late cancellation or missed visit not only leaves a hole in our practitioners’ day but negatively impacts appointment availability for our other patients who need care. As a result, we kindly request 24 hours’ notice for all appointment changes or cancellations. This allows us to offer the appointment spot to other patients waiting for visits.
Missed appointments and late cancellations will incur a 50% cancellation fee. The last thing we want is to charge avoidable fees, so kindly ensure to provide notice for all appointment changes. We thank you kindly in advance for your support.

In an attempt to limit no-show visits and improve accessibility to appointment times, credit card information will now be required to book all visits. The credit card information will be stored in a 256 bit encrypted, PCI compliant software (Stripe and Payfirma, through Jane App) equivalent to that of banking technology, and will not be visible to staff. The card will only be used in the event of missed appointments or late cancellations.
It depends on what cannabis product and how much you use. Cannabis products typically contain two main cannabinoids THC and CBD. The THC can cause intoxication at higher doses. Everyone has a different tolerance to THC but as long as you don’t take too much THC based of your own tolerance, then you won’t experience the “high”.
There are plenty of strategies to reduce the risk of intoxication. You can use a product that doesn’t have THC or very low amounts of THC. Talk to a knowledgeable healthcare professional at Apothecare to learn more.
